How to make money online in Nigeria
So, without any further ado, let’s get straight into the various money making opportunities you could start tapping into online in Nigeria today.
Start a blog
I don’t know how often you hear that – and still doubted it. You may have tried, but failed, and believed it doesn’t pay.
But if you are reading this, it is proof that starting or owning a blog pays.
Why? Because you are currently reading a blog -that pays. And that is enough proof that blogging pays.
I have various money making opportunities on this blog that fetch me money, even when I sleep. I even refer my potential clients here too, to see my writing style, before they hire me to write or do SEO for them.
You can keep your 9 to 5 job, and still run a blog. In fact, I do lots of other internet stuff these days, I only check this blog from 7 pm. Yet, the results from the blog keep improving. Owning a blog gives you the freedom to take advantage of the many other money making opportunities on the internet.
What does a blogger do?
The job of a blogger is straightforward – produce the content your audience wants, and share it where they’d see it.
Easy right? Maybe.
Assuming your blog is already up and running, this is the breakdown of how a blogger does his or her job:
- Research for content (once you get a hang of this, it becomes a walk in the park).
- Write content based on what you discover your audience want (or get someone to write it for you (free or paid). Some businesses will offer to write content for you for free, just to link back to them, or for visibility.
- Publish your content on your blog.
- Promote it. Share and do those stuff that will get your content out in the open. Your SEO will help Google do its part by bringing people to read your post. I’m pretty sure, you arrived at this post or a post that led you here, through Google or other search engines.
- Do SEO. The first to third steps (a-c) listed here are parts of SEO. So, there is an SEO activity from the start of a blog to its death (if it ever dies). And SEO is pretty easy if you know what you’re doing.
- Make money. It may not be as direct, but remember I said I’m assuming the blog is up and running, right? Cool.
The good thing is, you don’t have to know how to develop a blog to get one. You could hire someone to set it up for you. For example, I help lots of people design or develop their blogs. And they earn their money, without even knowing how to buy a host.
Start Affiliate marketing
To make money online in Nigeria or anywhere in the world, you have to exchange something for the money you want. On this blog, I exchange my knowledge for your presence, and I make money. What is Affiliate marketing?
This is simply selling products you don’t own, for the owners of the products and earning a commission from the sale. These things are automated, that they happen so fast and easily, and your money comes to you. And you know what? It is a real business you can do full time.
For instance, if you wanted to lose weight, you will likely do the following:
- Check Google to research real weight loss methods,
- Buy a weight loss supplement or program,
- Start your weight loss journey by implementing the things recommended in the program you bought.
The following is what an affiliate marketer will do:
- Start a blog or a landing page about weight loss,
- Teach weight loss and share working tips,
- Get an affiliate product to promote on the page,
- You arrive from search engines or social media to learn about weight loss,
- You get interested in a working method or product he’s talking about,
- You buy from him, or through him,
- He makes money.
Guess how many people are struggling to lose weight every day? Millions.
That is only one niche in the affiliate marketing industry. There are a thousand and one more: from making money, investments and stocks, pregnancy, relationships, love and dating, health and fitness, nutrition, education, travel, and vacations, name them.
